Application of Hand Held Equipment

Analogue Output
In some cases for accurate measurement or readings of analogue signals, it may be convenient to connect the DIO 565 to an oscilloscope.

  Accurate measurement of analogue signals

The echo height, arrival time or HF waveform may be accurately examined. For better synchronizing the both instruments the sampling frequency of the DIO 565 may be reduced. The time of flight of ultrasonic echoes may be very accurately determined.

Real Time Frequency Spectrum

An outstanding property of the whole DIO 565 and DIO 1000 family is the possibility to evaluate the received signals not only in the commonly used time domain (A-scan) but also in the frequency domain. The frequency spectrum is achieved by the fast Fourier transform (FFT) incorporated in the instrument. As an example, there is a screen display of tan echo signal (time domain) and its frequency spectrum shown together with the setup parameters in the next figure.
